Cory's original question stated "additional hardware functionality", and I replied based on the fact that MMS does not require hardware changes on the iPhone, only software. I think we can assume that MMS capability is supported by most (if not all) carriers (specifically, the capability to send/receive MMS data). The iPhone doesn't have MMS functionality NOT because the carrier can't handle it; but because the software isn't built to handle MMS.
