... Yes- as an update after thorough use: this setup rocks! The skullcandy phones attached have an amazingly rich and bass- intense output while phone calls sound more natural- and the microphone of the aforementioned adapter is the best I've ever had (I am quite addicted to headsets, it's really advantageous having Your hands free while being on the phone)
Apart from that I became a big fan of the ipod/mobile mix... the first time being brought to You in a format that proves to stand the test of exceeding usage... like, 24/7 for my iphone ;-)

yeah, the cord... to give You a full update on this:
- my first shure phone adapter now, after a whole year of vigorous daily use (!!), went dead on the left speaker... - at the same time my skullcandies dropped dead and I switched back to my most favorite headphones, Koss' "the plug"... these things BLOW YOUR EARS OUT if You are not used to such a rich bass experience from in-ears... so amazing.... got the same adapter again and I admit that the length of the shure adapter ist just fine, but if You use it with a normal length headphone cable You have lots of it to store somewhere... I don't mind that over the fabulous sound, but some people might bother... as the green philosopher stated: "choose You must"

Sam
it seems that you only read half of my post but I'm happy to write a second time, since this is quite important thing for me as well... my headphones usually last 6-8 mths due to permanent usage, so after wrecking some rather expensive ones I decided to check out the mid/low price segment for sth that might suit my needs... 1. Koss "the plug" or "sparkplug": I was in love with the Koss PortaPro, a legend in delivering decent headphone sound- but since these were on-ears I found them too clumsy for my iphone... these in-ears from Koss now are a beauty on their own: they deliver a rich and almost dark bass, I guarantee all the other inears You come across are simply fainting due to this respect against this one... while being sold in Germany for only 20€! 2. SkullCandy: I tried these being annoyed by the original apple headset... and was stunned how nice they sounded! check them out at least, they deliver high frequencies a bit better than the Koss, but I am looking more for the bass experience 3. If You're unafraid to get a hold of on-ears, check the legend, "PortaPro" from Koss 4. if You're ready to beef out a bit more of the good ole cash check the Bose on-ears at the apple store! You get them with a mic integrated, while being a lot more "burdensome" to wear they remedy you for that by simply having the best sound for 200$ You will find anywhere- and they're comfy! Hope this helps!
