10.5.4 What the Freak, sounds like Windows to me

I don't get why 4 major releases since it came out. Plus a whole new version next year. Sheesh. Most of my problems with MBP has been due to upgrades.

I haven't had any issues with the updates on my MacBook. Everything seems to run just fine. Wonder why it's causing your MBP issues?

Well I have had to take my MBP in several times, usually right after a major update. One for a Tiger update last year and had to take it in shortly after the 10.5.3 update, something is fishy. Last year it was panic attacks and recently it was for having boot troubles.

This may be stupid, but how do you know it froze. Some updates act like they have froze, but in reality are slow.

Ok, sorry. Sometimes I almost gave up on some updates for my system and then it started. Did your system reinstall it okay the next time, with no problems? Thats always scary to force reboot in an installation.

I was told by a Mac technician to go to the Apple site and download the "combo" upgrade. The reason is was to help clean up the computer a little better. I haven't had any problems.

Keep in mind that updates also help patch potential security issues.

As for all the updates, this is noting. System 7 was being updated constantly.
