Apple TV: Star of the Stage at MacWorld 2008?

Apple TV has so much potential it isn't even funny. Even though Steve Jobs relegated it to 'hobby' status this past may, the fact remains that there could be so much done with Apple TV that it could be huge. It could transform living and family rooms around the world into true entertainment/multimedia hubs.

How?

Well, what if Apple launched movie rentals via iTunes? Download the movies from iTunes, slap them onto your Apple TV and watch them on your HD widescreen. Oh, and of course you can also download music and your favorite TV shows from iTunes as well! Couple that with a ginormous hard drive and bit torrent technology and you've got yourself a movie/music/anything else entertainment unit that you and your family can enjoy.

How about this though...

What if the next generation of iPod/iPhone could also be used as a remote for the Apple TV? I think that would be pretty cool. 'Have an Apple TV and an iPod? Sure, just use the iPod as the remote, here's how you do it!'

Should be interesting to see if Apple TV is the feature product at MacWorld 2008. As I said, I believe it has a lot of potential!

What do you think?Â*
