MacBook Air - You want one?

So, what does everyone think of the new MacBook Air? Ridiculously thin if you ask me, but I'm not sure I need the thing.

I don't travel too often, and my MacBook Pro does me just fine.

Any opinions?

Mayor, I think for people like us working from one of Apple's aluminium laptops already this is not really a point of decision: you don't need it... this is not the point as well, as we all know- it is the incredible beauty of the whole thing that is stunning me every time I look at the pictures (the ads, the video tutorial.... dammit)

So, RATIONALLY I am sure I do not need it, more than that, I think most of the times I think I'll miss sth from my little G4-powered 12"PB as old and obese as it might look in comparison to the new kid in town... I would miss Firewire transfer the second USB, the slot-in DVD-burning superdrive...

But my heart, my heart tells me other things... it is falling in love in the tram- You know it is not from this world and You certainly don't want to risk Your marriage for this, but what an amazingly gorgeous person!

So, since being in love only benefits Your mood and not Your effectivity, I'll try to fall in love again with my never-out-of-age-love I am married with... being content with what You have is an art as it is a blessing...

I hear ya Mat!

I think I'll stick with my MacBook Pro setup for now. Nothing wrong with it, and really... I don't need an ultra-thin laptop... Wouldn't get any benefit from it other than the 'wow' reactions I might get from others, but I don't care about that!

I'm considering getting one just so I can have something to store/view/slightly edit my photos on when I'm not at home. It would go nice with my iMac. But it would be very nice if it was a bit cheaper...

whew, as a PHOTO VIEWER.... mymy, Jack, You seem to have problems I dream about at night... and it ain't a bad dream, I can assure You!

After having all the hype cool off a bit I no longer see a bigger sense in this device than showing off what is possible- so in spite of me being much happier that it's Apple who shows off and not anyone else I do not see any sense in this beauty...

Oh the analogy- the pricy looking stuff, the human as well, seems to be not more than that, beautiful and pricy... or is this just me envying guys like Jack that actually have the possibility to do sth like, get this thing as a photo viewer for abroad?

Resist her

She's beautiful, slim, and elegant. And she's newly arrived. You are happily married to another, but this new hottie seems utterly irresistible.

No, it's not the new girl in the cubicle across the hall; it's the MacBook Air!

Remember, you've been happily married to the 12" aluminum PowerMac G4 for 4 years now. Resist the itch and remember how good she's been to you before you dump her. Sure, she's not as young, but your baby is still hot for an older, mature lady. And she still gives you everything you need, man. Everything.

haha good one Happy_Phantom!

I agree... my MacBook Pro has more substance and history of performance... the Air would simply be a one time 'fling' Plus, it doesn't have everything built-in that I need... oh my!

well, I am already sobered out from the flirt in my mind! Had some really shocking realizations (NO ETHERNET, uaaaargh)... I guess I am not ready yet then to go totally freakin wireless and cool...

So who is going to give me a backlit keyboard to build into my PB?-)
