The New AppleTV

I think we're going to see AppleTV sales rise thanks to the movie rentals deal between Apple and all of the major movie studios. In fact, I'm seriously considering getting one as I type this.

A little bummed about the 30-day waiting period after a movie goes to DVD, but that could possible change in the future?

What do you like best about it?

I could see myself watching YouTube videos almost daily!

it's crap for watching you tube videos. it's so hard to type and i don't get the same results compared to searching on the website.

i have some poker games at my house, and it's great for listening to music

Really? Well that's dissapointing to hear!

Sometimes I find myself watching older sports events that are saved on YouTube... instead of buying a dvd or something I can often find them on YouTube for free. Granted the quality isn't there, but I don't mind.

I love my Apple TV too but don't use it for You Tube. I did a bit of surfing of You Tube but unless it is in the Most Watched lists, I don't really bother now. What the Apple TV could have done with is compatibility with the wireless keyboard, that would solve the typing issues (for instance, I had a 63 character ASCII WPA password and that was not fun entering into the Apple TV via the remote control!).

I'm eagerly waiting for the HD option to be activated via the software download.

Ooo using the wireless keyboard (and mouse!?) with the AppleTV would be sweet. Never thought of that.

I've started using my wireless keyboard a bit again and it is starting to grow on me. It's nice when I want to recline and type away at a document.

But I'm getting off topic...
