Your predictions on next iPod Touch genereration

Well, yesterday I went in to the apple store, and got finally convinced that iphone is just not for me, I don't want to go trough all those problems to have it without a plan.

So I figured iPod Touch is what's really for me. I just don't think I'll be getting one like anytime soon. They are just too expensive, 300dlls beeing the cheapest.

So I wonder

1.- When do you think a new generation will be coming out?
2.- Do you think they'll increase to 64GB maybe?
3.- Do you think they'll be cheaper?
4.- Do you think they'll come with 2.0 software alrready?
5.- Other comments?

Flash drives still remain incredibly expensive. Apple will not make a profit if they released a 64GB or a 128GB model. Larger capacity iPod touches are at least 2 years away.

Here's what the next gen will be.

- Better battery life. (possibly 24 hours as supposed to 22)
- 8GB model will go bye bye and the 16/32GB models will drop $100 in price.
- If Apple feels generous, maybe faster Wi-Fi

As for a complete cosmetic change? That is highly doubtful. There is very little Apple can do to improve the cosmetics of the iPod touch.

The next gen iPod touch will most likely be released in time for the 2008 holiday season. And yes, it will have 2.0 pre-installed.

Would be nice. And guess having a 64gb wouldn't be that usefull, scince I would use an ipod touch mainly to use apps. If it does come for the holidays, I'm defenetly getting one.

I just read on AppleInsider that Apple is working on releasing low cost touch-based iPods. So anyone want to male some mock drawings of the iPod Nano now with touch.

I'm gonna wait another year b4 I get another iPod touch. The 2nd gen is prolly gonna have some moderate changes whereas the 3rd gen is gonna have major changes. The 32GB might just be $299.00 or $399.00 as supposed to 499.00.
