interesting times indeed...
Actually there also were rumors that apple out of cost efficiency first released a 2.5G phone, and not due to some weird energy problem as Jobs stated- including 3G would have resulted in an extra effort of including a lot of software helping USE 3G through the iphone... summing those two points up it makes a neat package of reasons why they didn't start 3G initially...
What do You think?

I don't think the iPhone was really ready for mainstream and the first six months or so have been used to beta test it in the real world. I still am amazed we still don't have Copy and Paste on the unit. I think Apple wanted the product out more than they wanted third party app capability.
Now that third party apps are just around the corner, give me a 3G iPhone and I will buy one. |

I'm with You there, mabs... cute cat, btw... reminds me of the cute lemure in "madagaskar" somehow...
I totally agree that the mere power of the iphone just starts to be unveiled in detail- and we could guess, for some parts even to apple itself... so after all maybe the slow and careful approach gives them more control over things happening, who knows... all i know is that VERY interesting and exciting times are ahead... mind you, not saying whether these times are positively or negatively exciting ;-)
