iPhone Update

Well, I want to get an iPhone. However, should I get one? What if there is an update in September? I don't want to get stuck with an older model. Does anyone know about any possible updates? Things that I suspect will happen soon:
- 3G Technology
- Thinner iPhone (just like the iPod Touch)
- GPS
- Better camera resolution
- Video chat

Any other suggestions??? Send your opinion!

Mike, I would put my money on 3G technology, and a higher quality built-in camera. Video chat.... maybe.

GPS they are already working on with Google/Skyhook Wireless... Although I suppose it's not truly 'GPS', but a 'soft GPS' system. I would highly doubt Apple would cut the cords here. Look for developments in this system in the coming year.

Video chat would be amazing, and I can bet you that will come into the picture sooner or later. Perhaps not on the next generation, but in generations to come, I'd look for it.

well... You know.... it's an update, but.....not REALLY, right? Let's say, this is a minor upgrade like 1.2, 1.3 and not like 1,2,3....

I still think 3G might be possible this year somewhen...

3G is coming - AT&T said so, Steve Jobs said so and unless it comes, the iPhone will never sell well in the UK (unless it comes free with a contract).

that ain't precisely right, roalgumo... You can actually make vids with an app you get through installer...

so, it seems the brand-new version of the iphone will rock any worlds it will touch... I a quite interested in the impact on company level- might be a leading market if people find that typing is equally fast as on a blackberry... exciting times!
