The Focus is Taking my Money ASAP

I have been drooling over this rumor for a LONG time but i am not sure what market this would be shooting for. Big enough and powerful enough for mobile Photoshop or smaller and less powerful with a focus on personal media consumption and education?

I personally would like to see both:
2Ghz Custom Core2Duo Chip
2Gb RAM
32Gb Flash
9" Screen
MultiTouch & Wacom Pressure Sensitivity for Photoshop
iSight
Mac OS X Leopard with Advanced Gestures

£899

1.8Ghz Atom Processor
1Gb RAM
16Gb Flash
6" Screen
MultiTouch
iSight
OS X Mobile so to speak

£499

PLEASE TAKE MY MONEY APPLE!!

Im pretty sure that ill save my money though. looks like it would be a magnet for finger prints also.

Artists, yes. Everyone else? I just don't know if handwriting recognition software has evolved enough yet for it to be [highly] error-free, responsive, and most of all, truly usable. Until then, it would be an expensive iphone...

The usability difference that I see between the iPhone and a notebook computer are these:
1) the ability to enter alot of data
2) pixel precision computing with a mouse

So unless a tablet (without a keyboard and mouse) can reconcile this gap effectively, I can't see it being successful.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple were doing alot of R&D on a tablet, but I don't think we'll see one soon (within the next year).

Sorry if I've busted anyone's bubble!

Actually as towards pixel perfection look at the Cintiq tablet. Artist use it all the time. And as towards handwriting recognition, if you go and look at the video for the iPhone 3G you will see it will have the capability of recognizing I believe it was Japanese writing. If they can recognize all the little dots and stuff in Japanese, it shouldn't be that difficult for English.
