BBC Radio Widget

The excellent BBC Radio widget from Phantom Gorilla can be found here.

The widget is gloriously simple and allows you to listen to any of the BBC Radio streams.

There really isn't much to say about it. Other than it's brilliant and is probably the only must have widget that there is.

James, I've installed the widget, and installed RealPlayer (widget requires it).

I was instructed to restart the widget after I installed RealPlayer to get it going... but no dice yet.

Does it require a full-system restart?

Hate it when I run into these little roadblocks!

Strange.... restarted the widget within dashboard and that didn't work.

Restarted the system... that didn't seem to work either.

Wonder if it has to do something with the actual audio stream? I know on some BBC things they like to verify that you are in the UK before they give you any steaming content... Since I'm in Canada perhaps that is the problem?

We'll figure this one out yet!

I've had a quick look at this and it seems that some BBC streams are locked to the UK - which is a pain.

Can you get a stream using iplayer? (BBC - BBC iPlayer - Home) Before you get excited, I'm thinking that you won't be able to.

I think you'll need to use a VPN to get yourself a UK IP address. Then it would work.

Think I'll just stick to my usual radio stations

I hate it when there are this kind of limitations. It happens to me a lot when trying to watch videos only to tell me that I'm not in the US and the content is not available outside the States. I understand they have their reasons, but still, it's annoying
