Is Apple TOO Cool???

Does anyone else feel that sometimes Apple puts too much effort into designing something that looks cool instead of it being more user friendly? For example, the iPod has the scroll wheel. Now I know you can adjust the sensitivity, but is this really better than just having up, down, left, and right arrows that you can press? Sometimes I'm using my iPod and scroll too far, then scroll back and go too far again. What do you guys think? Maybe I just need to work on my hand-eye coordination...

Well, when I say Apple I think of inovation, premium products, original ideas and, why not, high prices too.
I don't think they should change anything. They're doing a great job with all their products and with gaining market share and new customers each day that passes.

I totally agree with that exact usability issue on the scroll wheel. That said, it pales in comparison to the sea of innovations that Apple has offered to the world through all of it's products. I think of the iPod Touch and iPhone as the "iPod evolved" - so really, you can argue that the scroll wheel has been improved...

I agree. I think Apple needs to keep plowing ahead. They are far more user friendly than the M word.

Yeah when i had my Nano i used to do this all the time. It was either too loud or too quiet. Now with touch screen innovation, it is much easier to adjust the volume.

No, I don't think so. I do believe they do spend a lot of money on Design and marketing, but they have systems that also crunch. As soon as the new macs come out, I'll be there.

Haha. I'm assuming Mr. Marley means that the computers are robust and high-performing machines, and that Apple doesn't just rely on heavy design and marketing expenditures.
