Looks like it is available for PC only. They're still developing for the Mac at the moment. You can sign up at the top right for news on the Mac version...

Google always taunts us Mac users with stuff only available for windows. (Like Google Earth
). Well, someday. But it took forever for Earth. Lucky for me (if "lucky" is even the right word) I have boot camp. Maybe I'll check it out. But I'm not impressed with some screenshots of how it's been rendering some sites. After downloading it's pretty interesting. I'm definitely looking forward to a Mac version. The UI feels very Linux-ish. Not sure how it would look on the metal-ish Mac theme. But maybe they will change it slightly to adapt. I love the error page (Aw, snap!) and the "Incognito mode". Both slightly humorous. Incognito mode has a slightly different theme then a main window. It's darker blue and has a little spy in the top left. The error page has a dead tab icon and says "Aw, snap!" (as I mentioned). The one main feature (I think) is the task manager. Each tab is pretty much a separate browser. If one is locking up your computer just open the task manager and end it. Seems very useful. Well, I'll be waiting for a Mac version but probably won't switch until they add a bookmark synchronizer .Last edited by Jack : 09-04-2008 at 02:54 AM. |

This is another great example of Google's great design team. Incognito mode is a feature that I've always hoped someone would make, and now Chrome's even being compared to an operating system because of the ways that it manages apps. Unfortunately, as great as the browser is, I'm guessing that we can't expect a version of Chrome for Mac very soon. But I do see this as a great opportunity to finally take out Internet Explorer for Windows.

Hm, do you mean the fact that Chrome has the task manager?
Oh, I get it. When you put Safari in private browsing you can't have a non-private browsing window open too. Is that what you mean? Or are you just talking about the task manager? |
