PodCasts

What are your favorites, both video and audio?

I listen to most of the TWiT network including:
  • This Week in Tech
  • Windows Weekly
  • MacBreak Weekly
  • Security Now!

on the Video side, I watch:
  • Diggnation, this got me started on Podcasts
  • TWiP (This week in photography)
  • GigaOM
  • Systm
  • Tekzilla
  • WebbAlert (although this one I rarely watch)
  • Sesame Street Podcast (this one is for me and my baby boy)

Generally the audio podcasts are for the car, makes the commute much more tolerable. But on the flip side, I'm growing to dislike podcasts run by Leo Laporte simply because he has become so one sided. I listen to him on Apple podcasts, and he bashes Windows, but on the Windows podcast he doesn't seem to have comments. ON the latest batch I"m listening to (month of March), its like he's not even listening to what Paul Thurott (the Windows guy) is saying, and instead just pulling a Steve Jobs where Leo just spews out half truths. Its all very frustrating, but has led to this post... I"m looking for new tech related podcasts b/c at this point in time, I have lost faith in Leos ability to be a true, fair, reporter of tech news and information. Instead he's become a miniSteve Jobs.

So, any podcasts you like?

At Macworld Leo wondered why his numbers have leveled off. Well, it's because people like me have grown to dislike the TWIT Network. The only two shows I now listen to of his are the Tech Guy and Security Now. TWIT and MacBreak Weekly teach nothing and are just a lot of people talking rubbish (basically, the panel love the sound of their own voices so, even if there's been no news, they still manage to do a podcast that lasts over an hour!).

With baseball back on, I've dropped all the TWIT stuff to make way for it. I can't see myself going back to Leo's stuff in October - I'll probably give other Mac/tech podcasters a try.

Yup, I agree with you there on the TWiT network.

I actually also listen to Windows Weekly, despite the Mac community's dislike towards Paul Thurrott, he gives a pretty open view on Macs and he backs up his opinion. Something the Mac related podcasts on TWiT quit doing sometime ago.

Honestly I only keep listening to MacBreak Weekly b/c of the picks at the end of the episode.

Let me know if you run across any good Mac podcasts though.
