Oh man, that is a nice setup. What do you do for a living? Just curious are you in the creative field, or do you just like Mac stuff.

Actually a little of both

I do some graphic design for local shops/businesses, but that is not my profession.

I use the 24" to replace a 4 monitor Windows Vista rig. MacBook is for the wife.

I do like Apple products(obviously!)

so I think we all agree that being a creative not necessarily spoils Your taste for a decent setup, then ;-)...

I'd love to have the money to afford more (or newer) apple hardware as well... but since it's so sturdy for now I won't let go of my PowerBook 12"....

until maybe there is a noteably worthy replacement, that is I suppose- and no, Macbook Air, You are no option ;-)

I agree about the MBA. I love my MBP, and I wonder what the next year holds for the next major overall for the MBP. Hopefully it will be a bit lighter, but regardless, I can't replace a MBP with an MBA.

same feelings here, Chad... I won't ever again step back to plastic and ain't gonna compromise on interface to a MacAir degree... but now after three years I am getting a little itchy now and then seeing the MBP's running like mad... and my vent shouting out every now and then... but my little one is strong still and I don't feel obliged to the upgrade...

...but sometimes it itches....

I feel the itch. In less than a year after I saved up and bought mine, they released the Multi-Touch MBP with more RAM and Harddrive and slightly more speed. But I would wait if I was you until they do a body makeover on the MBP, from what I have read it is long overdue for one.

cool stuff, renegade. out of the main Apple products you only miss the iPod, but I guess the iPhone makes for it

Your word in the one's ears who can make a change, chad... that is exactly what I am up to... but with the Macbook air and all ething has become pretty unpredictable lately... now it seems likely they won't bring out a sequel of the PB12" which would then be a direct opponent of the Air....

but hope dies last they say... and for any bigger MBP it anyway makes sense to wait for the big overhaul, as You suggest... thanks for the support...
