Drobo

I've had a Drobo for several months and have had no problems with it at all. I use it to store over 1TB of video and music content and it provides me with data protection.

Check them out at Data Robotics, Inc. | Products

Only downsides I've seen are: price ($500 with no hard drives) and fans can get noisy.

As Mac users make up over 50% of Drobo purchases, Data Robotics, the company behind the Drobo, will be at Macworld 2008, announcing something for the Mac users. I wonder what it will be?

That is one nice looking product. You're bang on though, the one downside as I can see it is the price.

However, if it works flawlessly for you, and you have 1TB of space... all-in-all not a bad deal when you really look at it.

I've never owned or used a 'drobo' product so I really can't comment

there are similar things out there that don't cost anywhere near as much, but also don't look as good.

G-Technology 500GB G-Drive

I currently have one of these on the MT network:
G-DRIVE High Performance and Stylish FireWire and USB Storage Solutions

Works well. Have read mixed reviews but no problems yet.

this product looks really nice and is a great idea but the cost is kinda out of my league. i own a freeagent drive right now. it was only twenty bucks and i personally don't find it a trouble to manage.
