MacBook battery? Sudden shutdown

Do you have any idea why a MacBook might suddenly shut down (black out completely) and shut off when it says it has 30 percent power left? Bad battery? Needs a clean system install? Zapping PRAM doesn't help. Ideas?

Need more info than that. Does it boot up okay afterwards? Is the only problem the battery charge. What is the version of the Operating System?

I had the same issue just recently. Was around 30% when my MBP just shut off... I rebooted with no issues since, but it WAS weird...

My MBP done the same thing, but it only happened once. But now I do have frequent boot glitches, where I have to do hard resets.
