Nextel is a walkie-talkie service, here in mexico is really usefull because most ppl use it, it's a monthly fee, and you are able to use the walkie-talkie all you want, originally it was used for business.

Truth is, I think watching LESS TV is always a good thing. In fact, I limit my TV time to 3-4 hours a week. That's why I love the DVR - there are only a few shows I have recorded that I can watch on my schedule. However, DVRs can become a thing of evil if all someone does is record a ton of sitcom and reality shows and becomes "disconnected" with the world. So, it's about discipline and balance - any good thing can also be bad when you have too much of it.

OK, enough with the philosophical rant.

Yeah that is one of the selling points that my parents thought about getting them, but they weren't heavy in the area where they lived.

I salute you on that. I used to be that discipline and I need to return to the discipline.

Now if I can only apply the same discipline to the amount of time I spend online...

Ha i couldn't agree more. I'm also trying to cut down on my tv time because its starting to cost us more and more. I guess its not such a bad thing not to own a DVR because it would be pretty hard for me to get away from watching my favorite shows whenever I wanted. :P

I can't believe that my parents got into using their DVR all the time. When I go home to visit it is always House, Psych, CSI (ALL OF THEM), Numbers and whatever other crime show they like.

In their defense I do like House, but that's about it.
