I think this really depends on Your provider... for instance in germany automatic time setting transport over the gsm network is not the rule yet- so I have to change the time zone and all settings myself...
I think You in the US should be provided with time settings- then it depends whether the iphone itself supports that transport, I am not sure about this (we agree, it should) lastly, it could have been a problem with Your provider not readily changing the daylight saving hour back... I just realize, I only specified the questions while offering no answer... but sometimes mere realization of the problem helps bearing with it ;-)

hehehe.... this might be a demo of "it changes cause I notice it" in a more metaphysical manner as Heisenberg intended it to be... but it made me grin quite the same ironic way ;-)

Hey James! I still don't think this has anything to do with the device itself- are You able to verify this weird effect with the help of a non- iphone mobile? Admittedly this is quite something I am asking for- and I am shivering thinking someone would ask me for this... but it could limit guessing...
are You addicted enough not to dare? Cheers!

haha, yeah its all good!
Actually I have a few BlackBerry devices kicking around.. I tried popping the SIM into those and used them for awhile... no issue... time was always correct. I'm THINKING... possibly could be something to do with the external ac adapter... Every time I plug in the iPhone to charge it up.. it would seem that afterwards the time is off.... Why oh why!?.... This is weird! |

yh a few people in our computing class have had this problem with their iPhones as well when they plug them into windows pc's to charge up whilst we are doing visual basic work and they lose an hour or two in time, but once they are plugged into their mac's they work just fine. this mite be an issue with certain pc's or charging devices because i know that windows thinks that iPod touch's and iPhones are digital camera's. i don't know about the ac adaptor because my iPod touch doesn't lose time when it is plugged into my external apple one. strange indeed
