I don't think 5 months is unreasonable - I think that 16 and 32 GB iPhones at $199 and $299 (with service plan) will absolutely be the ticket to drive more iPhone sales this holiday.

My problem is...I can' wait that long. I'm already going nuts waiting for the 11th!

ha reloaded, nice. yeah i agree because the iPod Touch was out around Christmas and the 32 gb came out around May. So probably a little more than 5 months because the iPhone is far more complex than the iPod touch. This would be sweet though. too bad i have no patientce!

Mark my words, the 32 GB will be available by the end of the year to drive demand. I also wouldn't be one bit surprised if the iPod Touch 64 GB was available right after MacWorld in January 2009...
Quite possible. And of course most of us buying the IPhone 3G will get a little pissed that they released an update so soon after we purchased our 3G.

IMO, when it comes to storage - it isn't more complex to increase it from 16 GB to 32 GB - just additional cost...it's already been done in a smaller device (iPod Touch). Apple hasn't put the 32 GB of memory in the iPhone to manage cost and demand.
