a little excerpt I found:

Heard any rumors about the old iPhone getting updates?
The upcoming firmware 2.0 release—which will add Exchange support, the App Store, and other features to the iPhone—will work just fine on the original iPhone. Due in early July, the update will be free for iPhone users; iPod Touch users will have to cough up $9.95.

Yeah i knew they would have to pay a fee for it i forgot to add that. Kinda stinks but i guess it is fair seeing as the iPhone users have to pay a monthly fee anyways.

Well that sticks to them charging them last year for the update. I agree with Sam.

iPhone shouldn't be charged as long as they are on their cellular carrier.

Yeah, I've got the Jan. Upgrade, and will soon get the 2.0 upgrade. The reason I say soon is because I locked my room with my iPod touch in it. I lost the key, and am taking of my doorknob to get in. I'm not stupid, I just don't think . Oh, also, I'll bet that someone will put 2.0 for download in installer. Somehow, it probably wont feel the same as buying it though . OK, im gonna go get my iPod back. 5 hours without it is long enough. Im addicted to my iPod . See ya!!!

[EDIT] OK, I got it, und upgraded it. Took 3 hours though. And I also found the key in my computer room on the 3rd floor of my house. LOL.
