The MacReviewCast episode 152 includes commentary on an Apple TV Flash Drive that inserts into the Apple TV and will upgrade it to:

-Play almost all video formats (DivX, Xvid, AVI + more)
-Sync, organize and watch non-iTunes video files
-Surf the web with built in web browser
-Rent & watch Hi-Def movies from Jaman.com
-Enable RSS Feeds
-Track live weather
-Enable SSH access

However, it costs $59.95 so it's not something I'm tempted to get.
